Spectator issues correction to article on Benzene
The Hamilton Spectator(Dec 19, 2009)
Correction published: - 20091219
A story and subsequent graphic on benzene emissions at ArcelorMittal Dofasco contained incorrect information. The steelmaker emitted 80 grams of benzene per tonne of coke in 2007, not 800 as reported. And that is expected to fall to fall below 20 grams next year, not 600.
An Ohio plant referenced in the story emitted 40 grams per tonne, not 400 as reported.
Dofasco's 2015 target is between 15 and 20 grams per tonne, not between 150 and 200.
We apologize for the errors.
