3.7 Hold/Release (Order Status Report) 870 Dofasco to Processor

This transaction set is the ANSI ASC X.12 Version 3030 equivalent of the AISI/COMPORD
Hold/Release transaction in the AISI Outside Processing System (transaction code 96).

Purpose

The Hold/Release transaction provides the format and establishes the data content of
a Dofasco order status report for reporting a hold/release for use in an electronic business
environment.

Application

The Hold/Release transaction is used to notify either party of a "hold" or "release"
change to outside processor status, material classification steel producer commercial
department status and/or steel producer quality assurance department status. This
transaction may contain steel producer instructions for redirecting the steel.

This transaction will be electronically sent by Dofasco to any of its Outside Processors/
Outside Storage Facilities capable of X12 EDI communications.
