3.4 Production Reporting (Buildup) (Order Status Report) 870 Processor to Dofasco

This transaction set is the ANSI ASC X.12 Version 3030 equivalent of the AISI/COMPORD
Production Reporting transaction in the AISI Outside Processing System (transaction code
92)

Purpose:

The Production Reporting transaction provides the format and establishes the data content
of a Dofasco order status report for reporting production for use in an electronic business
environment.

Application:

The Production Reporting transaction is used to report the production cycle progress to
Dofasco. Dofasco requires the Processor to adhere to the following reporting practices:

1) The 'discharge' weights, including scrap, must reconcile to the 'charged-in'

weight of an item

Note: Off cut items banded together and mixed coil ID's in bundles must first be reported
to reconcile each coil ID's weight. Then a 'buildup' transaction must be sent via EDI to
indicate which coil ID's were combined.

2) The Dofasco lift ticket number must be sent in the EDI transmission

3) For slit cut items:

a) each slit cut must be assigned a unique item ID by the processor

b) the Dofasco lift ticket number(s) attached to the lift must be sent in

the EDI transmission

4) Material Damage Fault (AISI Table 72) and Type (AISI Table 73) can

be provided with the 'discharge' coil ID, if applicable

5) Production Unit (AISI Table 76) must be reported

6) Multiple processes processed on a single production unit must be reported

7) Next Process (AISI Table 66) must be reported including any unscheduled

next process

8) A packaging process performed 'off line' must be reported

9) The following method must be used for reporting production when a master

coil is processed for more than one Dofasco customer sales order number:

a) report production for the portion of the master coil produced

on the original Dofasco customer sales order number

b) report process code 52 (unfinished-AISI Table 66) for

the remainder of the coil to leave this piece ahead of the process

c) a Reapplication (867 Product Transfer & Resale) must then be sent

to reapply the unfinished piece to the next Dofasco customer sales

order number

d) report production in the same manner as a), b), c) above until the

coil is consumed

This transaction will be electronically received by Dofasco from any of its Outside Processors/Outside
Storage Facilities capable of X12 EDI communications.
