This transaction set is the ANSI ASC X.12 Version 3040 equivalent of the AISI/COMPORD
Inventory Handoff transaction in the AISI Outside Processor System (transaction code 89). 

Purpose

The Inventory Advice transaction provides the format and establishes the data content of
a Dofasco inventory handoff for use in an electronic business environment. 

Application

The Inventory Advice is used for reporting a "snapshot" of the material in inventory at a 
specified point in time (may include in-transit material from certain Outside Processors/
Outside Storage Facilities). 

This transaction will be electronically received by Dofasco from any of its Outside 
Processors/Outside Storage Facilities capable of X12 EDI communications.
